New Zealand police investigate a car modification that has been described as a ‘stealer’
New Zealand’s Police Service is investigating the theft of a car with a large black roof and a large red-and-white paint job that was allegedly painted by a local auto repair shop.
Police said they were tipped off to the car theft at the end of March when it was reported to the local police.
They said the owner of the car was contacted by the owner’s father and they were contacted by another member of the community who alerted police to the theft.
The owner was questioned, but was not charged.
Police say the owner told them the car is worth $8,000 and he has plans to sell it.
Police are now appealing to anyone who may have seen the car or the red paint job to come forward.
