BMW is getting the go-ahead to build a car engine swap in Vancouver
BMW is going to start building a car conversion to the tune of $200 million in the city of Vancouver, a source told Axios.
The plan would add another engine to the city’s existing fleet of 200 cars.
The new car would be built in Vancouver and would be delivered to customers in 2017, the source said.
The BMW will not have a specific model number.
The city already has a fleet of 1,000 cars with a range of 100 kilometres, and is expected to add another 700 to the fleet by 2023, the sources said.
A BMW spokesperson did not immediately respond to Axios’ request for comment.
